In short
MIDI Aid collects no data. It has no server, no account, no ads and no analytics. App Privacy label: Data Not Collected.
Your MIDI data stays on your device
MIDI Aid reads events from MIDI devices connected to your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android device and shows them on screen. Events are held in memory only. They are never written to disk, never uploaded, and they are discarded when you clear the log or close the app.
Local network
On Apple devices MIDI Aid can receive network MIDI sessions, for which the system may ask for local network access. It is used only to receive MIDI from devices you set up.
App downloads
When you download or update the app, the App Store or Google Play processes data under their own privacy policies. We only receive aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts.
Contacting us
If you write to us, for example with “Contact support” in the app, we process your email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The app may pre-fill app version, platform and OS version; you can edit the mail before sending it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Write to hello+midi-aid@ramuslabs.com.
Most data never reaches us. It stays on your device or in your own iCloud account, and you can delete it yourself at any time by removing the app or its files.
Right to lodge a complaint
You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state where you live. The authority responsible for us is: Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.
Children
Our apps work without an account and do not ask for your age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
Changes
When the app or the law changes, we update this policy. The version published here applies.
